Meet the Team!

Community Coordinator

Phone: 919.416.2741 - texts welcome!

Email: korianna.hays@ncssm.edu

Office: ETC 011 (ground floor, near Woolworth Room)

Due to the nature of my work schedule, I may not be able to return a call right away; however, I check my texts and emails regularly throughout the day.

If you need immediate assistance, contact the Bryan Desk at 919.416.2825 to speak with an on-duty Community Coordinator or Campus Safety & Security Officer. This is the quickest way to get in direct contact with a CC. I occasionally cover duty shifts, and nights that I am on-call are listed at TWAN.ncssm.edu.

Kori Willoughby

I'm Kori (she/her) and I am a Senior Community Coordinator, the Student Activities Coordinator, and most importantly, the CC for 3rd Beall!

This is my third year at NCSSM. I joined the team as a Residential Education Instructor in 2022, but I am a long-time member of the Unicorn family. My momma is an alumna (class of '88) and first introduced eight-year-old Kori to the school at one of her class reunions. I've loved it ever since!

I am a graduate of Clemson University (go tigers!), where I received my bachelor of science in Biological Sciences with a research focus in marine biology. During my time at Clemson, I fell in love with student affairs, which is what brought me to my position here! I'm currently pursuing my MA in Higher Education at Appalachian State University.

Alongside my duties as an SCC, I serve as the Student Activities Coordinator. I might have the most fun job on campus! I get to plan programs for the student body and make sure everyone has plenty to do. I also serve as one of the NCSSM Sustainability Coordinators.

I also attended a residential high school in South Carolina, where I both faced personal challenges and experienced tremendous growth. I hope to be a valuable resource for your students as I help them navigate this unique and formative journey.

I love working with students and am proud to be such an integral member of the support system for the residents of 3rd Beall. The 3rd Beallians are my favorite part of the job!

When I'm not working, you can find me at Ninth Street Dance taking ballet class, reading on my Kindle, or playing with Trixie.

I look forward to connecting with all my students and their families during our time together!

Residential Life Assistants

Abby Sanders

(she/her)

Hey! My name is Abby, my pronouns are she/her, and I will be in 316 again this year! I live in Goldsboro and have been there my whole life. I love music, binging shows with friends, drawing, taking pictures, and being outside. I like to spend my time around my friends whether that means doing homework or walking off campus with them. I’m so excited to meet all of you this year on Third Beall and to make so many more amazing memories. Please feel free to reach out on any platform!

Joanna Hu

(she/her)

Hey everyone! I'm Joanna Hu, and I'm from Pinehurst, NC, and I use she/her pronouns. I'll be living in room 303, but if you wanna find me, I'll probably be somewhere on campus or wandering around Durham/Chapel Hill. I love dancing (literally any kind), listening to music, hanging out with friends, and crafting (I'm currently getting back into embroidering right now). The people and 3rd beall hall culture are the best and my favorite memories always involve our infamous hall couches where the best laughs happen! You can reach me through text and I can't wait to meet yall!!

Sophie Pittman

(she/her)

Hey y’all!! My name is Sophie Pittman, and I’m from Old Fort, NC. I love going on runs with friends, reading in my hammock, and exploring the city. You’ll find me in room 317, but if not, i’m likely napping in the lounge or grabbing some Harris Teeter sushi! I adore 3rd Beall’s community and our famed hall karaoke nights. You can reach me via text, insta, or snap:) I’m so excited to meet everyone and be an RLA this year!!

Hall Mascot

Beatrice Boogerbutt - "Trixie"

Trixie is the four-legged resident of 3rd Beall! She loves chasing sticks, eating butter when her parents aren't looking, and sleeping under blankets. She is only a little bit scared of teenagers.
Maybe more than a little bit. Who can blame her?
